Health and Safety Officer

Our client is a medium sized civil engineering contractor with projects generally in the Dublin/Leinster region

They are currently seeking a Health and Safety Officer their safety team.

The role would involvement both work in the main office as well as regular site visits to a number of sits and would re[port to a Safety manager within the company

The company will offer a very attractive salary package for the right candidate which will include transport, health insurance/bonus/pension

The position would potentially suit a candidate from a trade background who have developed into a safety role or a hand on safety professional who entered the profession from college.

Duties:

Conducting regular, formal site audits and carrying out inspections.

Ensuring that record of statutory inspections are kept for all activities and plant equipment;

Delivering Health & Safety induction programmes for new employees or contractors working on site;

Serving as Client representative at Site meetings;

Organising and chairing the Safety Meetings for staff and Sub-Contractors personnel;

Ensuring sub-contractor safety statements and required Method statement are available on site.

Assess sub-contractor statements and method statements, assisting where required;

Advising / assisting Site Management in drafting and communicating Method Statements;

Carry out risk assessments and ensure risks are reduced.

Requirements:

Health and Safety Cert, Diploma or Degree is essential,

With 4+ years of experience.

Previous experience managing safety on site with a main/Sub Contractor.

Good communication, leadership, training, and presentation skills.

Experience in the construction industry.
