Senior Electrical Estimator

If you are relocating back to Ireland, fancy a change or have hit a glass ceiling in your current employment KCM have an immediate requirement for a senior electrical estimator.

Our client is an Irish Main Contractor with multiple projects in Ireland and in Mainland Europe.

They are heavily involved in the construction of Data Centres which they build as a complete package from enabling/civil works through structural build, M&E installation, and commissioning to final client handover.

Experience Data Centers is not essential.

You will report to the company estimation Director and work alongside an experienced team and supervise mentor more junior estimators.

Duties:
• Preparing estimates based on drawings and specifications
• Determining type, quantity, cost of materials and fixtures needed for each project
and preparation of pricing documents accordingly
• Obtain pricing for elements of the building from Irish and European subcontractors and suppliers
• Assist in the maintaining of the cost data base
• Build relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, etc)
• Participate in the development of procedures to ensure a high standard of quality control in the documents produced by the Estimating Department
• Co-operate with the application of quality assurance procedures
• Understand the requirement to achieve a high level of quality in the production of subcontractor tender documentation and tender submission’s
• Able to identify potential risks on a project

Requirements
• A Quantity Surveying or Estimating background with at least 5 years’ satisfactory experience
• Possess an acceptable proficiency, both written and oral, in the English language
• Knowledge of FIDIC contracts is desirable
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and in at least one of the more widely used QS BQ production software packages – e.g. Buildsoft or CostX
