Civil Estimator

Our client is a medium sized civil engineering contractor with projects generally in the Dublin/Leinster region.

They are involved in roads, small bridges, site development, airport works, civil packages on Data centres, marine works and general civil engineering projects.

They have an experienced commercial and estimating team and they are seeking due to continued expansion to add a further civils estimator to their existing team.

Preference would be salary and working in the head office however consultancy will also be considered as would a balance or home and office work. Essentially, they are open to make things work for the right candidate.

The company will offer an attractive salary package for the right candidate which will include health insurance/bonus/pension

Duties:

• Undertake in house estimate of required civils works and to manage the timely and accurate pricing of Tenders.

• Preparation of material and sub-contract enquiries including selection of prospective subcontractors.

• Obtain accurate prices and quotations for all aspects of a tender relating to the Civils element including subcontracts, materials and labour.

• Technically and commercially assess quotations.

• Produce an accurate estimate for Civils related work for a Tender.

• Advise the estimating Director of any additional resources that may be necessary to complete the Tender

• Preparation of Tender programme for Civils works – Working with allocated planning Engineer to document any areas of potential risk identified in the tender.

• Attendance to site visits if required.

• Attendance at settlement meetings to discuss and explain Civils estimates.

• Presentation of the cost estimate to senior management/Directors at tender settlement meetings.

• Preparation of tender submission (including technical and commercial aspects);

• Attend post-tender Civil/commercial meetings with client.

• Adherence to the Company Q.A. system.

• Preparation of hand-over documentation after award of contract.

• To respond to Clients post Tender requirements
